W:Hi,Dave.You’re back now, aren’t you?
M:Yeah, I got back two days ago.I actually wouldn’t answer the phone if I saw the call was coming from England.
W:Yeah. So, how was the trip to Canada?Did you have trouble with the language or transportation?
M:No. It was very good.At first I was worried about my accommodation because I kept reading stories about rental flats going all wrong.
W:Oh,was it one of those? My friend Karl had a terrible experience in France with one of them. The place didn’t look anything like the photos.
M:Right.I was really worried because I heard these stories. And at first when I arrived in Toronto I couldn’t find the place. It turned out I was in the wrong building. It was next door, and on the top floor, and … wow. Jean, this place was wonderful with these floor-to-ceiling windows and the most scenic views of the city.

M:Mmm … that doesn’t sound good.
W:What’s worse,I’m afraid of going outside.I find myself worrying about stupid things like what if I forget the way home. Or,what if I go to class thinking it’s Monday but actually it’s Friday. It sounds even more stupid when I say out loud.
M:It doesn’t sound stupid at all.It actually sounds a lot like me last year.I used to have panic attacks. And you’d be surprised how common they are.Our professor once told me that lots of people have them;they just don’t talk about it.
W:How did you get over them?
M:I actually talked to a doctor about it,and I think you should too.But I’ve learned some practical things. We’ll talk about it later in the classroom,OK?It’s a little cold here in the yard.
W:OK.

Text 10
Since the novel coronavirus broke out in Wuhan in December 2019, the number of people infected and patients who have died keep climbing. It is reported that the disease has something to do with the killing, selling and eating wild animals. With the decrease of wild animals, many animals are endangered. Worse still, some of them may disappear forever. There is no doubt that hunting and killing wild animals has a bad influence. Wild animals are killed for their fur, which causes the imbalance of nature. For another, due to the close contact between humans and wild animals, some rare and deadly diseases may infect humans easily. As far as I am concerned, something must be done to stop this illegal action. First, nature reserves are supposed to be built so as to offer more living space to wildlife. Also, remember to never have wild animals for food,as they are part of environment.Last but not least,it is high time that we raised people’s awareness to protect wildlife.
