M:That’s funny.By the way,I will go to Australia on business next week.

W:Really? Have a good time there.

　　The Academy Awards are annual awards that honor the highest achievements in cinema.Although the official name of the ceremony is the Academy Awards,it is most commonly referred to as the Oscars.Since 1929,they have been one of the most watched television events of the year.There are over 7,000 members in the Academy Awards as of 2018.Together,they vote who should win in the 5 major categories:Best Picture,Best Director,Best Actor,Best Actress,and Best Screenplay.To qualify for the ceremony in late February,films must open in California between January 1st and midnight of December 31st the previous year.The award itself is a statue of a golden man holding a sword and standing on a wheel of film.Academy rules state that the winners are allowed to refuse the award,but they are not allowed to sell it.Although it is an American awards show,anyone from any country can win an award.Chinese-born director Ang Lee has won the “Best Director award” twice.Although he almost won for Crouching Tiger,Hidden Dragon(2000),he did for his films Brokeback Mountain (2005) and Life of Pi(2012).
